REPORT OF THE HISTORICAL COMMITTEE PRESENTED AT THE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION OCTOBER 9. 1940.

The Committee on History in submitting this report wishes to state that what we have written is intended for Masons and will be of interest only to members of the Liberty Lodge. We have tried to select the most important and most interesting events but even this limitation makes the story too long for public reading. We suggest for public use the sketch by Bro. Tom Womall which is found in the copy of the by-laws printed in 1934. This is a concise and well written history entirely suitable for a mixed audience. We cannot improve it except by binging it up to date. This we have done as will be found following the larger account.

We wish to acknowledge our indebtedness to Bro. C. L. Dougherty, Bro. Tom Womall and Bro. Chas. A. McConn whose researches have been available to us.

We have also brought to date the roster of elected officers, and have compiled a complete list of members. In this work we wish to thank Bro. Edgar Archer, our Secretary, for his valuable assistance.

We have held to the records and have indulged in comment only as it was necessary to relieve the monotony of a dry recital of facts. we trust our labors will find favor with the brethren.
